In Summer 2011, we split some Lysimachia ciliata ‘Firecracker’ plants to make 48 new ones.
Half were potted in our usual compost. The other half were potted in another organic peat-free compost.
The plants were then given identical growing regimes, with watering as necessary.
After four weeks the results were startling.
The plants on the left potted in our usual compost had grown well. These plants were healthy with good “netted” root systems.
The other plants had hardly grown at all.
